Day 1: Schlitterbahn Water Park

We arrived at the Schlitterbahn Water Park in the afteroon but it was still nice and hot! A perfect day to spend in the water! It took us a little while to orient ourselves around the park and figure out what rides Hudson could go on but once we got going we had a blast!! Hudson's favorite part was riding his tube down the river rapids. The faster and bumpier, the more he liked it. When it slowed down he would say, "I want to go fast Daddy!". He's our little adrenalin junkie! Here he is getting his lifejacket on and getting a tube for the river ride.
He had a really good time hanging out at the kiddy part of the park too. They had lots of fun things for the kids to play on. Plus, he was able to do things over and over again as much as he wanted. Here he is going down the frog's tongue!
He loved running through these mushrooms that are connected with netted tunnels. Only I couldn't get him out of there! I was not about to crawl up there with my big pregnant belly and drag him out so he played in there until he was completely ready to come out...which was just fine! I just splashed around in the water myself as I waited but Daddy was ready to move on to a big ride! We watched Jason go down a huge water slide! I don't have pictures because I had to put my camera away in a locker so it wouldn't get soaked. Hudson really wanted to go down the big slide too but he was happy once he realized we were heading to the river ride.

This was Hudson's favorite slide in the kiddy area! He went down it countless times! He liked it because it swirled around inside of the big shell.
Cooling off under an elephant!
We worked up a good appetite at the water park but we saved it up so we could eat at a really neat restaurant that Terrie and Jeramy recommended to us. It is the Gristmill which is located in Gruene, TX right outside of New Braunfels. http://www.gristmillrestaurant.com/ Gruene is another little German town that is really cool. They turned the remains of an old mill into a resaurant. It was such a neat idea! You could look over the edge of the ridge it sits on and look down at the river. The food was fantastic too! Much thanks to The Moffitt's for the awesome recommendation...we'll definitely go back!

This is a music hall and saloon just in front of the Gristmill.

Here we are at the entry of the restaurant. It is so cool on the inside.
After we filled our bellies, we drove to the San Antonio Riverwalk and checked into our hotel. Hudson loved exploring his new living space for the next couple of days. He especially loved flushing the toilet in the bathroom and he just had to take a shower instead of a bath for whatever reason! Here he is testing out his bed and settling in for the evening. We had a very busy, super fun day!

Looks like a fun water park. You guys really need to come down to Orlando so I can take him to Aquatica and Adventure Island. He will have a blast!
