Hello from #2

I am finally posting my ultrasound pictures that were taken April 22nd when the baby was about 13 weeks old. I have another ultrasound June 2nd and as long as the baby cooperates we will get to find out if it is a Boy or a Girl!!
I had another appointment today and heard the baby's heartbeat: 159 beats/min.

Yard Fishing

So what do you do on a rainy day with nothing to do? You break out a spiderman fishing pole and a bucket and you do a little hillbilly yard fishing of course! Yes, we were very bored but this turned out to be quite an entertaining and challenging game. I strongly encourage you to give it a try! : ) {You get 2 points if you cast your line and your bobber lands directly in the bucket. You get 1 point if you over shoot the bucket and your bobber lands in the bucket as you reel it in.}

This is Hudson's sad face after Papa and Gigi left to go home Monday morning. I posted all of the pictures because I thought they were all super cute. Isn't that the best pouty lip ever?

A break in the rain

It rained almost all weekend so we just hung out at home most of the time. They guys got out for a bit Friday night to go to a movie. Jason has been wanting to see Star Trek and was glad to have my Dad to go with to watch it. It rained all day Saturday and Sunday. Jason was going stir crazy and went to the garage to work on restoring the barber chair we have. My mom, Hudson, and I followed him out. Hudson found his fishing pole while we were in there so he started a little yard fishing. (This is a precursor for the next blog)
Then we posed for some pictures:

Happy Early B-day to Gigi

My parents came down to visit for Memorial Weekend. Jason had arranged for them to be able to pick Hudson up from daycare when the arrived. Hudson was outside on the playground when they got there. My dad called out his name and he yelled, "PAPAAAA!!" and ran to him as fast as he could! He was very excited to have them here to visit.

We celebrated my Mom's birthday since we won't get to see her on her actual birthday, which is just a couple weeks away. Hudson and I made her a carrot cake birthday cake and we got her a bracelet from Brighton.

Make a wish Gigi!!

Jude's 1st Birthday

Saturday was Jude's 1st birthday. Jude and his family live down the street from us and they are all good friends of ours. They celebrated Jude's birthday with a Crawfish boil and a pool party. (crawfish are a really big deal around here but, personally, I think they are pretty gross little creatures!...I love the potatoes, corn, and sausage though!) Unfortunately, it rained just as it was time for the party to start so we moved everything into the garage. The bigger kids still made use of the pool in between downpours. Hudson was especially hungry this day. I guess he is having a growth spurt or something but he ate 3 hotdogs...one right after another (without a bun though) and then he ate 50 thousand crawfish. His mouth was on fire after eating the crawfish but it didn't stop him...he was even licking the spices off of his fingers! He finally realized his tounge was burning so I got him so milk. He chugged it down and was ready to eat more! I finally cut him off b/c I was worried he was going to get sick. Thank goodness he didn't...he must have a stomach made of steel! He's going to be a true Texan!

Here he is checking out the crawfish while they were still alive. I think he prefers them to be soaked in spices and boiled!

This is Stephanie. She was Hudson's crawfish eating buddy. She was so nice to keep peeling the crawfish for him! (because there was no way I was going to do it! Yuck!) The guy in the background with the shaved head is Matt. He was the chef and cooked up 70lbs of crawfish!

Finger-lickin' good!

More crawfish Daddy! More crawfish! That's all we kept hearing. No one could peel them as fast as Hudson could eat them!

Hudson and Jason playing a game of washers. This is the southern version of Cornhole.
And here is the Birthday Boy! Happy Birthday Jude!

Jude's Grandma made these super cute truck cakes:

One Cool Dad

So Jason had a mid-life crisis already and went out and got a new Corvette! Ha! Just kidding! He wishes! He got to pretend for a day. Lyle, his boss, needed to use our truck so he traded us the truck for the Corvette. That's a fair trade! Jason gave me and Hudson a little ride around the neighborhood. Jason instantly became the coolest Dad on the planet! Hudson loves cars and he recognized right away that this was a really cool one!

Two cool cats!
Hudson was so upset when the ride was over. He sat in the floor and pouted and begged to go for another ride.

I think Hudson was just as sad as his Daddy when it came time to trade back the next day. He cried and cried because he couldn't ride with Daddy to go to school. It was fun while it lasted!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful Mother's out there! Happy Birthday to Grandma Holladay!

I was pretty sad that I missed out on a day at the beach (even though I had a great time with the girls!) so Jason and Hudson came up with a way to bring the day at the beach to me. They had craft night while I was gone and they made me this awesome picture frame! They painted it to look like the beach and they attached Hudson's first seashells to it! I LOVE it!! My favorite gifts are super thoughtful ones like this!

The boys treated me to some yummy pancakes and kiwis! Look at this presentation! Mmmmm!

Here they are mixing up the pancakes! Hudson loves to help cook. He's pretty good at stirring and sprinkling cheese on things. And like every chef, he always has to give everything a taste test!

Later we went out and had a really good lunch at a new BBQ place we discovered. Thank you guys! I had a FANTASTIC day!

Hudson & Daddy at the beach

Saturday I went to Lindsay's wedding shower and bachelorette party so Jason and Hudson got to spend the whole day together by themselves. They went to the beach in Galveston and had a blast splashing in the waves and collecting seashells! Jason told me it was one of the top 10 best days of his life...so I would say it was a pretty special day!
Trying to keep his balance as the sand disappeared from under his feet...he thought this was a pretty cool feeling! Who doesn't?!?!
Running through the waves!
One of the fisherman caught a sting ray! I guess it was pretty upset and trying to attack with its barb so the fisherman cut it off.

What is a day at the beach without digging in the sand?

Here is Hudson with his with the first seashell he found! A perfect and very pretty black shell! There is a video below of the find in action.

Here he is checking out the seaweed and stopping to pose for a picture:
