Eli's 1st Birthday

Saturday we got to go to Eli's 1st Birthday party!!! It was a Dr. Seuss themed party and was so much fun! Terrie and Jeramy planned a brunch-style party so we could have green eggs and ham---Hudson thought they were fantastic and gobbled them up!! There were lots of people and kids there and lots of super yummy food!

Hudson couldn't wait to give Eli his birthday present! (As you can see from his excitement in the picture below) He can't wait for his own birthday and asks me nearly every day if it is his birthday yet! He is so ready to have his own birthday cake with his own candles to blow out!!

Here are Hudson and Daddy having fun jumping in the moonwalk! All of the boys had fun tackling Jason.

Here is Hudson with his Cat in the Hat hat on! Not such a happy face because he was hot and a little worn out from playing so hard. He was really wanting to go inside where it was cool so he could play with Eli's Lightning McQueen car. He has been asking for this car ever since we were at Eli's house after the zoo. Jason promised to get one for him and he hasn't forgotten! We are trying to make excuses why we haven't gotten him one until his birthday so he can have fun unwrapping it!
Here are Eli's birthday cakes...and oh my gosh, were they yummy!!! The big one was layered with vanilla and raspberry filling---it was wonderfully delicious!! I wish I had a piece right now!
Here is the birthday boy getting ready to dig into his cake!

I had been sick with a cold the whole week before Eli's party. After the party I went home and took a nap then woke up to realize I had pink eye! Later that evening I started getting an earache. I was feeling miserable!!! I had to call my doctor and she called in some antibiotics for me. I was feeling much better by the next evening. It's no fun being sick and very pregnant though! Thank goodness for my wonderful husband that helped out around the house and with Hudson so I could get some much needed rest!

Fall Swim Day

Today Hudson got to go swimming in Shawna and Jeff's pool. This is why having a pool in Houston is so great...you can swim into the fall season. We have actually had a lot of rain and it is a little bit cooler so I'm sure our swimming days will be fewer and farther between. However it my be 100 degrees again next week so you never know!
Here is Jude hanging out in his little pool:

Here is Hudson...a happy little fish!

Trip to the Zoo with Terrie & Eli

Terrie was so sweet and offered to take Hudson to the zoo Saturday so Jason and I could focus on getting some last minute things done before the baby arrives. I was planning to have a garage sale that day but once I got all of our stuff together it didn't really seem like enough to entice people to stop by...it would have been a pretty small sale but with some pretty good items. I think we are going to reschedule and combine it with our neighbors. So anyway, once the garage sale idea was out the window Jason made other plans and I felt like I would be left at home while everyone else was out having fun. I'm sure I could have found plenty to do but a day at the zoo sounded like lots of fun! So, I asked Terrie if I could crash the party and ruin her super sweet offer and tag along. I'm glad I did because we had a great time!! Terrie's mom & brother Will also came along. However, Will wasn't feeling very well so they left early. I think we were there until about 4pm and the boys were completely worn out!

Here is Hudson grabbing a drink of water out of the Lion's mouth:

We went through the children's zoo area, checked out the otters, giant turtles, and posed for pictures on the dolphin.

Here is Hudson in the tunnel that lets you pop up among the prairie dogs. I had a tough time getting him away from this area!!

We saw Mother Goose:

Here is Eli with his Nana checking out the goose:

Hudson got to ride the carousel and he was pretty excited to get to ride the lion!!
Here is Eli posing for pictures of his first trip to the zoo:

Hudson checking out the elephants:

The giraffes!! They had quite a few giraffes. I think the light colored one had a crush on the darker one because she kept grooming him! Either that or he was just a stinky boy she felt needed a bath!

A happy little boy at the zoo:

Eli loved this tiger puppet so his mama got it for him to play with at home!

Here we are at the end of the day. Terrie and Eli are all smiles and Hudson is passed out!

I'm pretty sure he is having sweet dreams about lots of animals...

When we made it back to Terrie's house, the boys were ready to play some more! They played very well together! Hudson was very sweet and enjoyed showing Eli how to play with his toys. : )

Baby Shower at Work

My friends at work threw me a baby shower today--exactly one month from London's due date. It was a great time filled with lots of giggles. Here is a picture of Mandi and I. She was the party organizer! This is me with the swing they got for London. I wanted a swing that was easier to tote around and in case she is like Hudson I wanted it to be better for sleeping in. I loved the bow on it!!

They also got me a couple of really cute outfits for her, bottles, bibs, & a gift card.
My old boss, Karen, got this outfit and a snuggly bear for her. I wish this came in my size!

I loved the wrapping for Karen's gifts too!! I hated to mess them up because they looked so pretty!
Yvette got me a bag full of goodies...including these super cute onsies! I can't wait to see her in her animal print! Kristeen got her some awesome headbands and bows. Some of them just so happened to match the outfits Yvette got. I can't wait to dress her up!! Girl stuff is great!

Here is a picture of the room before everyone arrived. We had a yummy cake and tastey punch.

Stephani was airing up the balloons, put one under her shirt, and thought she looked just like me!! She always teases me and tells me it takes everything she has not to come up to me and bounce my belly like a basketball. : ) {That's my little work space and desk behind us}

Labor Day Weekend At The Beach!

For Labor Day Weekend we decided to spend some time at the beach! The weather couldn't have been any more perfect! We had a great time splashing in the waves and digging in the sand!! After we wore ourselves out at the beach we went to The Rainforest Cafe to eat and ride the river ride.

Hudson & Daddy building a sand castle...until Hudson decided it would be more fun to smash it!

Striking a pose!
Here is Hudson exploring the outside area of the Rainforest Cafe while we wait for our table to be ready. He was so busy looking around that I couldn't really get him to look at the camera!

Here we are on the river ride. It was really cool. There were all kinds animated jungle animals moving and making sounds. It felt like we were really floating through the Amazon!

Big Boy Furniture

We are giving Hudson's crib and matching dresser to London. It is a bed that changes into a full size bed but Jason really wanted to pick out new furniture for Hudson. His new furniture was scheduled to arrive on the 9th so we had to move his old furniture into London's room the night before. We've been telling him he is getting a big bed and asked him if he would be okay with giving London his bed and he was thrilled! He was so excited to move his furniture into London's room and had to help push it in there. I was worried he would be scared to sleep in her room but I was completely wrong! He told us he wanted to sleep in there again until he realized his new furniture was arriving.

Here he is in his last picture in his toddler bed in his room. I was very sad because time is just flying by and he is getting so big so fast.

I had to take pictures of his room one last time. : (

Here he is checking out his bed in London's room...

Here we are at the Ashley Furniture store shopping for his new bedroom furniture. He had fun playing in this bed that was like a house. If it were up to him, we would have gone home with this one! Although, it's a little girly for his jungle room!
