1st time to fish!

Today was Hudson's first time to go fishing! He thought it was really cool until he saw a fish flopping around on the dock and then he was kind of freaked out. Jason finally talked him into touching one of the fish they caught...I would have loved to know what was going on in his head because he had the most unsure look on his face. He can spot a fish from a mile away now though so I'm pretty sure he liked it!

Family Reunion

Today was our family reunion. Here is a picture of everyone chowing down & enjoying all of the awesome food. Oh my gosh, I don't think I've ever eaten so much in one day!! (Shannon's twins are the focal point of the picture.)

Lake Fest: Mardi Gras Style!

Hudson got his first tie to wear to the wedding. It took a little getting used to but after all of the compliments and attention he received he became quite fond of it.

Today I've been teaching Hudson how to be a good husband one day. He loves to help me sweep the floors!

Ty's 1st bithday party

Today we went to Ty's 1st Birthday Party! Hudson had a blast play and hanging out with all of the other kids. They had a moonwalk, swimming pools, splash pools, lots of fun toys, and yummy food!

Also, HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY to Miss Chayse...wish we could be there to help you celebrate!

Lunch with my Lexicon Peeps

Today we met my friends from Lexicon for lunch. Hudson was pretty grumpy b/c it was his nap time and his little body knew it was off schedule. It was pretty hard to visit most of the time as he was struggling and throwing a nice tantrum. He settled down when the food came and we got to enjoy the rest of our lunch. Next time I will plan better! After lunch Mindy and Maggie & Ashlee and Cailin came over to hang out for our weekly visit. These are pictures from our first get-together. Hudson started out sweet but then decided to hit poor little Maggie (which I felt really, REALLY bad about!) so I had to make him stick to a 2 foot rule. He is better around them now...again, he was napless the first time we all got to hang out together so it was really my fault. : (

We still enjoyed hanging out with everyone so "thank you" to all of you for meeting with us!! Miss you bunches!

Buddy Day

Today I took Hudson to play with his buddies from daycare. It was sooooo cute because as soon as we walked in the door his friend, Dylan, did this awesome happy dance and ran to Hudson as fast as he could. Then he gave him the biggest, sweetest hug ever! He was followed by the entire rest of the class as they were all touching him, patting him, and trying their best to say his name! Then he started pointing to all of them and telling me all of their names. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen! You could just tell how much they all missed him and how much they love him.

Park/Library Day

Today Hudson and I went to a new park to play. This park has an awesome pool so we'll come back another day to go swimming and play on the water slides! I just found out that another pool area is opening up near us and they will have a lazy river we can play on so we'll try that one out when we get back from Ohio! While we were busy playing on the playground we looked up and noticed a big jack rabbit! Hudson thought the rabbit was pretty cool but wanted to chase him into the woods after he hopped away. After the park, we went to the library to cool off and read some books. Hudson LOVES books but he was quickly distracted from his book when he noticed all of the kids his age at the puzzle tables. I was amazed at how quickly he put the puzzle together on the first try!
Later in the evening Hudson had the best time throwing a blanket over Eli! Eli had fun too as he kept coming back for more. This isn't the best video because it is dark and Eli is solid black so you really can't see him at all...but you can hear all of the giggles!

Today's lesson: Water-loving creatures

Hudson loves the fish that I got for Jason's office (but hasn't made it's way there yet). Jason let him feed the fish today and I'm pretty sure it won't need to eat for another month!

Hudson spotted two toads on our back porch and was very excited! He spotted one in the same spot a couple nights ago but was sad when Eli chased it under the fence. He's been looking nightly for another one to show up and finally they did!

Father's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

This morning Hudson and I played while Jason got to sleep in. Then we made some yummy breakfast burritos! Hudson gave Daddy a new summer "Power" tie for work. I gave him $$ to get some new shades. After that Jason was ready to get to work on our dining room. A day of relaxation is just a day of boredom for him! So it was off to the mall again to shop for curtains. Then a trip to his favorite store, Lowe's, to get more painting supplies.

Hudson was a little sleepy and a little overwhelmed by the number of kids at the mall play area today. Mostly he just wanted to sit in Daddy's lap but every now and then he would get the urge to go play real quick and flirt with the older girls!

Here is the initial paint job on our dining room. There is still a lot of work to be done. You can see Jason working hard planning and sketching out the next step.

After a hard day of painting we went to Shawna and Jeff's house to swim and have dinner.

Trip to the mall

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GIGI TODAY!!!

Hudson and I went to the mall today to scout for Father's Day gift ideas and to buy a few new clothes. The first stop was the most important stop...the play area!!! He had a blast running around and playing with the other kids. It was great because when he was done, he found our stroller, crawled in, buckled up and we were ready to shop!

I finally got a bike cart so I can take Hudson on bike rides through the neighborhood. He was so excited! He didn't know what it was but as soon as he saw it he couldn't wait to climb in! We could hardly keep him out to put it together. He's all about safety...the first thing he did was put his seatbelt on!

Hudson got a new puzzle the other day. He can already tell me what the shapes are and, as you can see, he can put them in the right spots pretty fast!



Later in the morning we went for a long walk which put Hudson into a deep slumber.
